Julieta Garcia

Behavior Therapist

Julieta is a behavior therapist at DART and an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience on a pre-med track. Her passion for understanding developmental disorders drives my studies, as she also has an interest in this topic from a biological perspective. Beyond her work with DART, she’s involved in a research study with the Texas Center for Disability Studies, where she serves as a bilingual clinician. In this role, she supports underprivileged families of children with developmental disorders, such as Autism, by providing them with vital information, resources, coaching, and therapies. The study focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of these interventions through parent feedback and reported outcomes, helping to shape better approaches to care. These experiences have greatly impacted her understanding of developmental disorders and provided her with valuable hands-on experience working with families. In addition to Julieta’s academic and professional work, she’s also an artist. Julieta began creating clay artwork as a sophomore in high school and started her own Etsy shop to share her creations. Outside of therapy, she actively promotes her work on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. In her free time, she loves to read, draw, run, and spend quality time with friends.
